Wheelchair and Disability Access at the Chocolate Factory

If you have access issues, use a wheelchair or need assistance in any way for your visit to the Chocolate Factory we are happy to help. We ask that all customers who are visiting the theatre or restaurant give as much information as possible when booking with the box office, or venue so that we can help with any queries and arrange seating as necessary.

Wheelchair Access

Wheelchair access into the building is via our main entrance on Southwark Street. You should ask at the front desk of the restaurant for assistance into our step-free entrance.

There are disabled toilet facilities on the same level as the restaurant.

If you are visiting the theatre, we will have a member of staff assist you with entering the theatre and getting comfortable. We ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the show starts in order to facilitate this.

The theatre can take one wheelchair per performance, located at the front of the auditorium with an excellent view of the stage. There will always be at least one space available next to the wheelchair space for a companion.

There is a concession rate for those registered disabled plus one companion, (providing we have not sold out of concession tickets for that performance).

Please note ALL wheelchair spaces need to be booked in advance of your visit.

Concession Tickets and Meal Deals

Please note that as Meal Deal tickets are already discounted from the full price of a ticket and 2 course meal, we do not offer a 'Concession Meal Deal'.

All Meal Deal seats are located in a specific area of the theatre which will not necessarily be suitable for people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users.

Customers with access issues, visual or hearing impairments

When you book your concession ticket please let the box office know if you have problems walking, and we will suggest seating for you that is close to the theatre entrance and on the ground level.

There are approximately 4 steps up to the main entrance, 3 into the bar and box office area and 4 steps down into the theatre – with a handrail.

Customers with visual or hearing imparements qualify for concession rates for themselves plus a companion. Unfortunately we are not fitted with an infra red or loop system, but the intimate size of our venue means you can sit only a few feet away from performers. Please ask us for concession seats close as close to the front as possible.

Booking concession tickets

We have a limited number of concession tickets available for every performance. If you need to make a concession booking, please do so well in advance as there is a high demand for these seats.

Customers who use wheelchairs  will need to contact us directly at the venue to purchase their concession tickets, either by email or telephone.

Customers with access issues who hold a disabled badge, students, seniors (over 65) and Equity (valid for Sunday matinee only)  can book via our telephone box office - 020 79077060 or in person.

Check our box office opening times before travelling in our Contact Us section.

You will be asked to show your concession ID when you collect your tickets. Please make sure you have it with you as we cannot hand over the tickets otherwise and you may be required to pay a supplement.

Who can book a concession ticket?

  • Full time students with valid ID
  • Seniors over the age of 65
  • Registered disabled - plus one companion
  • Equity card holders (on Sunday matinee performances only)
