This ground-breaking play is a provocative tale of love, victimisation, fantasy and the friendship that develops between two strikingly different men imprisoned together in a Latin American jail.


Manuel Puig's novel will be seen for the first time in a new dramatic adaptation by José Rivera  ( The Motorcycle Diaries)
and  Allan Baker .




Samuel Barnett  plays Molina. Theatre includes: The History Boys (National Theatre / Broadway - original cast; Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play), the Tony-award-winning productions of Twelfth Night and Richard III (Globe / West End / Broadway) and the Olivier-nominated Dealer's Choice (Chocolate Factory and Trafalgar Studios). Television includes the title role in the major Netflix series Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, and films includeThe History Boys.

Declan Bennett plays Valentin. Theatre includes Jesus in the Olivier-award-winning production of Jesus Christ Superstar (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre) and Guy in Once (original cast - Phoenix Theatre). Television includes the regular role of Charlie Cotton in EastEnders.

Laurie Sansom directs. Credits include: The James Plays by Rona Munro (Evening Standard award Best Play) and Beyond The Horizon by Eugene O’Neill (National Theatre - Evening Standard nomination Best Director).
